Summer Academy to Reconnect!
Invicta National Academy, supported by Kent County Council, is delighted to announce the return of their successful summer programme to which all pupils are invited.
Invicta Summer Academy will offer free daily, live, interactive, online teaching, delivered by fully qualified teachers which will help Kent children reconnect this summer. Children do not have to sign up to all the lessons - they have the flexibility to choose which areas of maths and/or English they want to practise and which lessons to attend.
Each weekday morning from Monday 26 July until Friday 27 August there will be 5 maths lessons at 10am and 5 English lessons at 11am. Lessons are divided into key stage 1, lower key stage 2, upper key stage 2, key stage 3 and key stage 4.
Lessons are fun and effective, delivered via Zoom webinars using any device. The two-professional online teaching model is engaging and safe. All Kent school children up to the age of 16 years are invited.
Alongside fun teaching in core subjects, they are also inviting children to get moving with free fitness blast each day at 9.30am and boost their mental health with ‘Wellbeing Wednesday” lessons. Children can log in for health and happiness lessons every Wednesday at 12 noon aimed at helping them fill up their ‘emotional tank’.
New this year is the Invicta Summer Competition - a short video film competition for all children - ‘Inspire us to be good to the environment’ with £750 worth of cash prizes.
Invicta’s Summer Academy aims to help children return to the classroom in September feeling calm, confident and refreshed.

FOLKESTONE JUNIOR CHESS CLUB
Why not join chess club for kids in Folkestone. There are more than a dozen members aged 5-11 and they meet Saturdays, 10.30-12 and afternoons too, at the Radnor Park Wellbeing Centre.
We like to have fun and from that comes success which breeds confidence. Most of all learn a game that will last a lifetime and hopefully make some friends who will last just as long.
