School Celebrations
Sycamore Class have been learning about the different states of matter. Today we investigated melting with 'Ian' the ice-cube!
We had an exciting science lesson today in Cherry Class, where we explored the senses of taste and touch with much enthusiasm! There were some fantastic guesses of the items in the 'feely box' and very impressive involvement when trying the samples of salty, sour, sweet and bitter foods. Well done Cherry Class!
Birch Class had a fantastic time learning all about Folkestone in the Iron Age during their workshop at Folkestone Museum last week. They investigated artefacts from different periods, dressed up in Iron Age clothing and made coins similar to the first coins used thousands of years ago! They also had time to explore the museum and the interactive areas, bringing our History to life!
Sycamore Class had a brilliant afternoon exploring the local area for their Geography field work - looking at specific land use and finding human and physical features.
Elm Class have been enjoying spending time outside in P.E. developing their hockey skills. This week we focused on dribbling, push passes and stopping the ball.
Maple Class have been busy creating simple sculptures inspired by superheroes. We think you will agree that they look fantastic!
During English this week, Year 6 have been collecting vocabulary from poetry to create their own poems about an endangered animal. Their poetry was persuasive and thought-provoking - well done, Oak Class!
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed designing, cutting and sewing their own waistcoats during our DT lessons last term. They showed super perseverance whilst developing their sewing skills and understanding of textiles. Look at some of their finished products!
Sycamore Class have had a super start to the term with hands-on Science looking at states of matter and at different types of settlements in Geography
In History, Birch Class have been learning about pre historic times and they enjoyed discussing and exploring photos of Bronze-Age artefacts and learning about the changes that this period of time brought to Britain.
Cherry Class have had a fantastic first week back, including Geography field work outside, over and underarm throwing in P.E. and an exciting science lesson learning about the human body. Great job Cherry Class!
