Important information

Willow class will have P.E every Friday. Please ensure that your child arrives at school in their P.E kit and wearing trainers. 

What are we learning?

This term we are learning the rules and routines of the classroom! We have been spending lots of time exploring the classroom and making new friends.

Physical Development 

We will be focussing on improving our gross and fine motor skills through physical activities during Discovery Time. Additionally we will be using the Squiggle Whilst you Wiggle and Dough Disco programmes to develop our motor skills. 

Phonics

In Willow class we use the Phonics programme 'Supersonic Phonic friends'. We shall be learning to hear initial sounds, recognise phonic sounds and blend sounds to read words.

Literacy

The children will enjoy listening to a range of texts, including poetry! In our focus Literacy lessons we will be exploring the following fiction: 

Maths

In maths the children will be working on their counting and number recognition skills through a variety of songs, practical resources and activities. The children will be exploring the composition of number with the help of Number Blocks!
