Welcome to Year 3's webpage!
Our teacher is Mr Peters. We are supported in class by Mrs Hills.
Don't forget to check the website regularly and check our blog to comment on what you have been learning at home or in school.
We've had a fantastic term in year 3. We've been writing persuasive letters - Who doesn't want their school to be turned into a castle? Or the local park into a theme park?! We've learnt to use rhetorical questions, exaggeration and emotions to plead our cases. A class pet, children in charge, Sushi for lunch, are just a few of the wonderful ideas that have been hard to argue against.
In Maths we have started to explore multiplication and division. Building on the grouping and sharing skills we've learnt previously to look at bigger numbers and discovering links between the 2, 4 and 8 times table.
Science and geography have provided lots of opportunities to undertake exciting experiments. In science, we have looked at light and how shadows change. Whilst in geography we have looked at landscapes, how they are formed and how they change.
In RE we have been learning about Guru Nanak and the Sikh faith. This has provoked many thoughtful discussions about the importance of community, especially at this time. As we approach Christmas, we will be looking at how and why Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus.
