This term our topic will be Shipwrecks and Shelters. We will be using simple ideas of shelters and gathering an understanding of which shelters are best suited for different environments. Our class text is Kensuke’s Kingdom. We will be reading this together gathering information from the text and continuing to build our ability to gather information from a text to infer answers. In Literacy we will be using the text to create diary entries and writing from different characters perspectives. In addition, we will be studying the poem ‘The Tyger’ by William Blake and drawing images that come to mind from the language from the text.
In science we will be researching what makes a thing living and how we can begin to differentiate between the different classification of animals through their features. This will allow us to ask scientific questions and begin to create branching databases. In PE the children will continue to develop their team building, spacing and passing through football. As well as increasing their strength and balance through gymnastics, using a range of apparatus and paired challenges to move and balance together.
