Once Upon a Time
This term our topic has been 'Once Upon a time', so we have been reading lots of different fairy tale stories. At the beginning of the term a special note appeared in our classroom and we had to follow and solve the clues. This led us to some very interesting objects that had appeared in our classroom.
In Science we continued to learn about animals including humans. The children used the iPads to research different mammals before reporting their findings back to the rest of the class.
In RE this term we have been learning all about advent. The children have been thinking about what Christmas means to Christians and what preparations take place in the lead up to it. We have made some simple decorations and decorated them with words and images to show what we are thankful for.
Using our topic of 'Once Upon a Time' we have been exploring traditional fairy tale settings and labelling the different physical and human features found within them. The children have also been outside looking at the geographical features found around our school. They worked together and photographed what they found.
We have been learning about 3D shapes. The children have searched the classroom for different shapes that they could identify and name and tried to make their own 3D shapes.
