Monday 18th December
The final few days of term were kicked off with a trip to Tesco. Last week the children were learning about money, recognising some coins and role playing shops in class. So it seemed apt that this week they got to do a real bit of shopping: Christmas shopping! We braved the cold and walked to Tesco where we had a list of items we needed to get for all the Christmassy making and baking that is happening over the next few days. The children's behaviour was impeccable and they all were lovely and polite to the staff at Tesco, some of us even got to go behind the till and scan the items we were buying!
Wednesday 12th December
Christmas has well and truly come to Class R this week! We had Harbour Church pay the whole school a visit on Monday. They led some lovely reflection and craft activities all about the Christmas story.
And of course we finally performed our Nativity play to all the grown ups! The children were fabulous and I hope they made you very proud, as we couldn't be prouder of them! What super stars!
Friday 24th November
Today the children had a visit from MAF, an organisation that travels to the most remote places in the world offering all kinds of help. The children were able to go to Seabrook School to see one of the planes that they use and were lucky enough to have the chance to sit in the pilots seat too.
Wednesday 15th November
On Tuesday the school had a visit from a member of Kent Fire and Rescue Service. A man came in to talk to the school about fire safety and we got a chance to meet ask him a few questions about his job and find out what important things we need to do to be safe.
Friday 10th November
During our buddy time the children had an opportunity to explore the book fair and choose a favourite book to read with their buddy.
Wednesday 8th November
A huge thank you to all the parents who were able to come along for our reading morning on Monday this week. It was short and sweet but a really meaningful experience for everyone. We hope to see many of you again next Monday (from 8.35am).
