Junior Road Safety Officers
St Martin's Church of England Primary School has four Junior Road Safety Officers. Junior Road Safety Officers are selected at the end each academic year by the current Road Safety Officers through an interview process.
The Junior Road Safety Officers lead important road safety messages to the whole school community. The years priorities and focus for safety are decided at the JRSO conference with schools from around the district.
Look out for more information on our newsletters and website.
JUNIOR ROAD SAFETY OFFICERS CONFERENCE
Dover Council Chambers
Tuesday 14 October
The four St Martin’s JRSOs travelled with Mrs Bowman in her car to the venue and she stayed with us all day! When we arrived they gave us some biscuits and juice and we saw other JRSOs from other schools in the area. We then went into the Conference Hall.
Jack found us a space to sit and we looked at what we had to do. There were five different Road Safety topics for us to vote for:
Helmets, Hi-Viz, Seatbelts, ZigZags and Road Crossings.
We stopped for lunch which was very nice and supplied by them for us!
After lunch we voted for our favourite three topics and which school terms we wanted to promote them. To vote you had to push a button!
When the Conference finished we said thank you to everyone and Mrs Bowman brought us back to school.
We had a great day and would like to thank Mrs Bowman for taking us and looking after us all day!
